Aisam-ul-Haq, a tennis pro from Pakistan, has advanced to the second round of the men’s doubles competition at the current Australian Open.

On Thursday, Aisam and his Serbian partner Nikola Cacic defeated the Portuguese team of Joao Sousa and Francisco Cabral in the first round.

Despite dropping the first set, Aisam and Cacic won the match by scores of 4-6, 6-3, and 6-4.

The winning team had a 74 percent first-serve success rate during the match and won 3/4 break points.

In the following round, Aisam and Cacic, who were not seeded, will compete against Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Santiago Gonzalez.

It should be mentioned that Aisam’s greatest showing at the Australian Open, where he has appeared frequently since 2010, occurred in 2018, when he advanced to the men’s doubles event quarterfinals. He was defeated twice previously, both times in the second round.
