Aisam-ul-Haq, a tennis pro from Pakistan, has advanced to the third round of the men’s doubles competition at the current Australian Open.

Aisam and his Serbian partner Nikola Cacic defeated the 15th seeds Santiago Gonzalez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin in their second round match on Saturday by scores of 7-6 and 7-6.

In the third round, Aisam and Nikola will compete against top seeds Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski.

It should be mentioned that Aisam’s greatest showing at the Australian Open, where he has appeared frequently since 2010, occurred in 2018, when he advanced to the men’s doubles event quarterfinals. He was defeated twice previously, both times in the second round.

On the other side, this is Cacic’s fourth appearance in the main draw of the men’s doubles event. On his previous three appearances, he was eliminated in the first round.
