Pakistan captain Babar Azam maintained his lead in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) One-Day International (ODI) rankings.

Babar leads the list of ODI batter rankings with an 887 rating. Rassie van der Dussen of South Africa is in second place with a rating of 766. Another South African, Quinton De Kock, is third, followed by Australia’s David Warner and Pakistan’s Imam-ul-Haq.

Shubman Gill of India, who scored his first double century and century against New Zealand during the home ODI series that ended on January 24, was promoted to sixth place.

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli was demoted to seventh place from sixth after scoring only 55 runs in the series against New Zealand.

Rohit Sharma, who led India from the start with a century against New Zealand in the third ODI, moved up to ninth place.

Babar Azam has been named captain of the ICC ODI Team for 2022.
Babar Azam, who had eight fifty-plus scores in 2022, was named captain of the ICC ODI team.

In addition, the right-handed batter was named captain of the ICC ODI Team of the Year in 2021. Pakistan won eight of nine One-Day Internationals (ODIs) under his captaincy in 2022.

The ICC ODI team of 2022 includes Pakistan’s Babar as captain, Adam Zampa of Australia, Shai Hope and Alzarri Joseph of the West Indies, Shreyas Iyer and Mohammad Siraj of India, Tom Latham and Trent Boult of New Zealand, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz of Bangladesh.
