Bangladesh Premier League: Rizwan and Naseem shining for Comilla Victorians
Naseem Shah and Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan were key players in Comilla Victorians’ victory over Khulna Tigers on Saturday in Sylhet’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Tigers won the toss and elected to bowl first. In their allotted 20 overs, Victorians scored 165-2.
The majority of the runs were scored by the openers Litton Das (50 runs off 42 balls) and Rizwan (unbeaten 54 runs in 47 balls).
Johnson Charles, meanwhile, played a relaxed innings, scoring 39 runs in 22 balls with the help of five sixes.
Wahab Riaz and Nahidul Islam both got one wicket for the Tigers.
The Tigers lost the game by four runs after being held to 161-6 in 20 overs while chasing the 166-run mark.
In his first stint, Naseem bowled Tamim Iqbal, who had scored 11 runs off of 10. This gave his team a quick advantage. In the last over of the innings, after Shai Hope had scored 33 runs in 32 balls, the Pakistani speedster also dismissed him.
The fast for Pakistan finished with a 4-over total of 2-29.
With 10 points after eight games, the Victorians are presently third in the standings. The Tigers, on the other hand, have played seven games and are in fifth position with four points.
After eight games, Fortune Barishal is atop the standings with 12 points.
It should be remembered that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stated that it has recalled the BPL players who would compete in the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the teams’ request.
Eleven days before the PSL 8 kicks off in Multan, on February 2, the players have been instructed to return home.
