Gareth Bale, a former captain of Wales, announced on January 9 that he will retire from football yet still play in a PGA Tour tournament.

Bale announced he would play in the February AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California.

The 33-year-old, who holds the male player and goal-scoring record for Wales, announced his retirement earlier this month. Having won the Champions League five times with Real Madrid, he is perhaps the best footballer to have ever represented Wales.

He made the announcement that he would be attending the event on Instagram.

“I’m happy to announce that in the beginning of next month, I’ll be participating in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Go ahead, “He wrote.

“I eagerly anticipate the next step of my life. A period of transition and change, an opportunity for a new experience “Earlier in his retirement post, the ex-winger stated.

Bale’s relationship with the Spanish powerhouses soured after he was caught with a banner that read “Wales, golf, and Madrid. That is the order “when overseas representing his country in 2019.

In 2022, he will lead Wales to its first World Cup berth since 1958, in Qatar. He was his country’s talisman when they advanced to the Euros in 2016 and 2020.

There will be 156 amateurs and 156 professionals competing in Pebble Beach, including US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, world number five Patrick Cantlay, and three-time major champion Jordan Spieth.
