Misbah-ul-Haq, a former Pakistan captain and coach, has defended skipper Babar Azam against an alleged campaign to weaken him as a captain.

Misbah said in an exclusive interview with private source on Tuesday that efforts to weaken Pakistan’s captain are counterproductive.

“It is clear that Babar is being forced to become weak, which is undesirable. Everyone is paying attention to Babar’s press conferences and questions “He stated.

The former batter believed that everyone should gather to talk and decide together for the sake of Pakistan cricket.

“If a decision needs to be made, everyone should sit down and make it. The players, the selection committee, and the board should all sit down and make an informed decision. They should assess the situation and, if changes are necessary, implement them. If you put someone under pressure for any other reason, the entire team will suffer. This should never happen “He went on to say.

Pakistan was whitewashed by England in a three-match Test series last December, the national team’s first-ever series whitewash at home.

Meanwhile, the two-match series against New Zealand was a stalemate.

Misbah, who led Pakistan to its first World Test Championship title in 2016, believes the national Test team is “off track” as a result of numerous changes.

“Everyone can see how well the team played during the home series against England and New Zealand. The management made changes to the test team, despite how challenging it is to create. The batting and bowling will be completely altered by four changes. Pakistan gets to play fewer Test matches, making it difficult for the team to develop. In the test, we are going astray. No changes will produce results, “said the former batter.

The ex-coach acknowledged that Pakistan is a “powerhouse” in white-ball cricket, though.

“Unquestionably, the Pakistani team is a dominant force in white ball cricket. In white ball cricket, Pakistan’s bowlers and batters are the best “said Misbah.

Misbah also spoke out against having separate Test and white-ball captains.

“Appointing separate captains causes chaos by introducing competition. It shapes the political landscape “He came to a conclusion.
