The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Friday that Kirsty McColl will take Molly Barbour-position Smith’s in the Scotland squad for the inaugural ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023.

In accordance with the ICC, the Event Technical Committee must provide its consent before a player can be replaced and formally admitted to the team. As a stand-in for Molly when she suffered a finger fracture, Kirsty was announced.

The ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup event technical committee is made up of Sarah Edgar (Chair), Lydia Greenway (Independent), Stacy-Ann King, Claire Terblanche (Cricket South Africa), Snehal Pradhan (ICC Women’s Cricket Manager), Sivuyile Mqingwana (ICC Senior Manager Event Operations), and Sivuyile Mqingwana (ICC Women’s Cricket Manager).

Australia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the United States are in Group A for the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup, which begins on Saturday. Group B includes England, Pakistan, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe.

Group C is made up of Indonesia, Ireland, New Zealand, and the West Indies, while Group D includes India, Scotland, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. At four locations in Benoni and Potchefstroom, the competition will feature 41 matches.

In the Super Six phase, where teams are divided into two groups of six, the top three teams from each group advance. The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-final matches, which will take place on January 27 at Potchefstroom’s JB Marks Oval.

The final will take place at the same venue on January 29.
