PAK vs NZ: Imam-ul-Haq, who bats left-handed, was out before he got to 100 for the second time on day 3 of the second Test against New Zealand. He was out to Tim Southee earlier in the day.

After the left-handed opener edged the ball off Southee, he could only add nine runs to his score at the end of the day. Southee’s appeal didn’t seem to convince the umpire, but a review went in New Zealand’s favour.

He scored 83 runs and just missed another century. In the first Test of this series, he was out at 96.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, who has been in fine form recently, joined Saud at the crease.

New Zealand’s first innings put them in a good position with 449 runs. When Pakistan’s turn came around, they were 154-3 and Imam had given them a strong base with a 50.

Before Haq and Shakeel added 83 runs for the fourth wicket, Pakistan’s opener Abdullah Shafique (19), Shan Masood (20), and captain Babar Azam (24) were all out.

New Zealand’s tail, on the other hand, wagged like crazy. Matt Henry (68 not out) and Ajaz Patel (35), who both scored Test bests, put on an important 104 runs for the last wicket.

The best bowler was Abrar Ahmed, who got 4-149. Naseem Shah (3-71) and Agha Salman (3-75) were also successful.

The first Test, also played in Karachi, concluded in a stalemate, so the series is now knotted 1-1.
