PAK vs NZ: Pakistan climbed to second place in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League after defeating New Zealand in the first ODI of a three-match home series in Karachi on Monday.

In home conditions, Babar Azam XI defeated New Zealand by six wickets.

With this victory, Pakistan climbed to second place, just behind the Kiwis.

Pakistan bowled first in the series opener, limiting New Zealand to 255 runs before chasing the target down in 48.1 overs.

To help Pakistan score 256 runs, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan each scored a half-century.

The second ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand will now take place on January 11. On January 13, the series’ final one-day game (ODI) will be played.

Pakistan will be in first place of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League if they win the series 3-0.
