Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has offered former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi to remain chief selector till World Cup 2023.

According to the details, Afridi is currently the interim Chief Selector and PCB wants the former captain to take charge for another 10 months.

As per sources, PCB’s offer to Afridi to continue responsibility till World Cup in November in India and he will answer after the New Zealand ODI series

Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi is willing to join the consultation in other decisions including the coaching staff. Afridi claimed, they can do better by being involved in important decisions regarding the national team.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board experienced a significant administrative makeover, with Ramiz Raja being replaced by Najam Sethi as chairman of the managing committee in December 2022,

Additionally, former cricketers Abdul Razzaq and Rao Iftikhar Anjum joined the committee along with former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, who was elected interim chief selector.

According to the report, Afridi may stay on as the chairman of the selection committee following Pakistan’s home series against New Zealand, while Mickey Arthur will reportedly decide later this month whether to stay on as Pakistan’s head coach.
