Basit Ali, a former Test cricketer, tweeted that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had just fired him over a phone call.

Basit stated in a video that was published today that he was fired from his coaching position with PCB after a phone call.

“I was informed over a phone call that I am no longer a part of PCB,” the cricketer said in a shared video.

“Hence, I am starting my youtube channel where I will be analyzing Pakistan team performance. Earlier, I got a lot of calls and messages to start a youtube channel but I couldn’t do it due to my contract with PCB. But, now I will be speaking about cricket on my own channel,” he added.

Tomorrow, Basit will publish his debut YouTube video in which he reviews the performance of the Pakistani squad in its home Test series against England and New Zealand.

The former cricketer requested prayers from his followers for his new endeavour.

In the previous two PCB organizations, under the direction of Ehsan Mani and Ramiz Raja, Basit served as a coach at various levels.
