PSL 2023: Replacement Draft for Season 8 will take place on January 24
On January 24, the replacement draught for the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will take place.
The replacement draught will take place on January 24 as a result of a reassessment of the international cricket calendar by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The PCB has also granted franchises’ requests to increase the player pool. Franchises will now choose two players from the additional category to round up their 20-player team.
“Meanwhile, on the request of the franchises, the PCB has agreed to increase the number of players per side to 20, allowing each franchise to pick two additional Supplementary players. The Supplementary players will be picked in the Replacement Draft, which will take place on Tuesday, 24 January,” PCB released a statement.
Najam Sethi, the chairman of the PCB management committee, revealed the PSL 8 schedule at a news conference on Friday.
The massive festival will take held in Karachi, Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi from February 13 to March 19.
Most of the matches will be played in Rawalpindi, which will host 11, while nine matches will be played in each of Karachi, Lahore, and Multan. Multan will host the opening ceremony for the first time ever.
The tournament will feature more than 36 foreign athletes from ten different countries.
