Rafael Nadal has commented after Novak Djokovic beat Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Australian Open final to tie his record of 22 Grand Slam victories.

After tying Nadal for the most major victories, Djokovic recovered the top spot in the world rankings.

While this was going on, Nadal congratulated Djokovic and shared a photo of the Serb holding the title on Instagram.

“Congrats Nole, to you and your team for this great achievement,” he wrote on Instagram.

Djokovic got out to a strong start and stayed strong throughout the second set to win 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) and 7-6. (7-5).

In May, Nadal will attempt to win 15 consecutive matches at Roland Garros. His 22 Grand Slam medals include 14 French Open victories.

Djokovic, 35, and Nadal, 36, still have a chance to surpass all-time leader Margaret Court, who amassed 24 Grand Slam championships in the women’s singles division.

Djokovic started his record-breaking 28-match men’s singles victory streak at Melbourne Park in 2018. It started in 2018.

Due to his deportation from Australia as a consequence of a dispute over his COVID-19 immunization status, he was unable to defend the championship the previous year. He has now restored it.
