Shaheen Shah Afridi left the Bangladesh Premier League that was still in progress (BPL).

Shaheen was slated to go to Bangladesh to represent Comilla Victorians in the BPL while the Pakistani team was playing New Zealand at home while Shaheen continued his knee rehabilitation.

However, the pacer will now complete his recovery in the nation before the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In this year’s PSL, Shaheen will captain the reigning champion Lahore Qalandars.

In the T20 World Cup 2022 championship game, the 22-year-old cricketer suffered an injury. He was removed from the field after hurting his knee while catching a pass from Shadab Khan.

Shaheen has not participated in competitive cricket since and has been closely monitored by the medical staff of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Shaheen will continue his recuperation under the guidance of team management in the camp, according to interim head selector Shahid Khan Afridi.

Ansha, the daughter of Shahid and Shaheen, are scheduled to get married on February 3. Shaheen’s wedding, which will take place in two months, will follow Haris Rauf’s, who wed Muzna Masood Malik, a classmate, in December last year.

In PSL 8, both cricketers, who are also close friends off the field, will play for Qalandars.

The much awaited eighth PSL season will take place in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan from February 13 to March 19. In the upcoming days, the PSL 8 final schedule will be revealed.
