Usman Khawaja, the opener for Australia, has extended his extraordinary recent run of form at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) by joining an elite group of players who have hit three consecutive century at the illustrious location in Sydney.
When Khawaja pushed South African pacer Kagiso Rabada for two runs during the opening session on the second day of the third Test against the Proteas on Thursday, he achieved his 13th century in a Test match and his third in a row at the SCG.

This means that the left-hander has now achieved triple figures in three consecutive Test knocks in Sydney. This comes after the left-hander hit hundreds in both innings in the Ashes Test against England that was played at the venue at the beginning of the previous year.

Khawaja is only the fourth player in cricket history to reach that milestone, joining the ranks of Australia’s Wally Hammond and Doug Walters as well as India’s VVS Laxman. Hammond and Walters were joined by Khawaja after the Australia veteran scored another century.
