Andrew Tye, an Australian pacer, has chosen to play in the HBL Pakistan Super League over Western Australia’s remaining Marsh One-Day Cup matches.

The right-arm pacer will play for Karachi Kings in the HBL PSL 8, which means he will miss the tournament’s final two games against South Australia (in Adelaide on Wednesday) and Tasmania (in Hobart on February 26), as well as the final on March 8.

Tye’s absence will be devastating to the domestic team’s title defence.

The 36-year-old is not under contract with Western Australia, but he is a regular member of their playing XI in white-ball matches.

Karachi Kings will play Peshawar Zalmi in their first match of the season on Tuesday at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
