In the final over of the innings, Ahmed smacked Riaz for six sixes to ensure Quetta finished on a high note. On 94 runs in 50 balls, the right-hander remained unbeaten.

Riaz took three wickets but gave up 47 runs in his full four overs.

Riaz said on Twitter after the game, which the Gladiators won by three runs, that he was disappointed with his bowling but pleased with Ahmed’s batting.

Zalmi were restricted to 181-7 in 20 overs while chasing 185 for victory.
