At a packed San Siro on Sunday, Inter Milan defeated rival AC Milan 1-0, handing Stefano Pioli’s team their third straight Serie A defeat.

When he nodded in a corner from close range in the 34th minute, striker Lautaro Martinez gave Inter the lead.

Inter had 76% of the ball in the first half and kept Milan from making any shots on goal, although they dipped a little after the break.

Just before the hour mark, Milan retaliated with their first shot, but striker Olivier Giroud’s mid-range header missed the crossbar.

They then gave Giroud another chance and substitute Brahim Diaz for two good chances.

Romelu Lukaku was denied a goal for Inter after they had the ball in the net twice due to a foul, and Lautaro’s goal was disallowed for offside.
