Lahore Qalandars-led open hockey trials in Lahore delayed
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 security forces the administration of Lahore Qalandars to postpone the open trials for hockey in Lahore.
The open trials, which were originally slated for February 24 and were announced by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), have been postponed.
Qalandars intended to hold open hockey trials in Lahore after successfully holding them in Karachi.
The Qalandars sent their cricket squad to the hockey trials in Karachi in an effort to promote the national game.
The Karachi Hockey Association (KHA) pitch was visited by Shaheen Shah Afridi’s team to watch the trials. At the trials at KHA, hundreds of children participated.
The entire Qalandars team visited the KHA field and spoke with several of the athletes that participated in the trials. Fans snapped photographs with their favorite cricket players in the meanwhile.
Lahore’s plan was similar. The trials’ revised dates will now be revealed later.
Following the trials, a hockey match between the teams from Karachi and Lahore will be held in Qalandars. Haris Rauf will be at the Lahore camp, while Shaheen will represent Karachi.
It should be mentioned that Qalandars will host Peshawar Zalmi for their opening game on February 26. Qalandars have won two of their first three games.
After suffering a severe loss against Karachi Kings at the National Bank Cricket Arena, they made a comeback in the tournament (NBCA). They defeated Quetta Gladiators by 63 runs at the same location before mounting a comeback.
