Lionel Messi‘s late goal helped Paris Saint-Germain beat Lille 4-3 on Sunday in an exciting Ligue 1 game. Neymar had to be carried off the field due to an ankle injury, but Kylian Mbappe scored twice.

Prior to Messi’s incredible goal, Mbappe had scored a late equaliser for PSG after they had blown a two-goal lead and fallen behind 3-2.

The victory puts PSG’s three-game losing streak to an end and puts them seven points ahead of Monaco, who defeated Brest 2-1 away.

Marseille, on the other hand, can move back up to second place and within five points of the leaders with a win at Toulouse on Sunday evening before hosting PSG the following weekend.

“We got through it. It wasn’t a particularly strong performance “Mbappe revealed to Amazon Prime.

“We made a lot of mistakes and lost concentration too often, and you pay dearly for that against a quality side, but we showed that even when we aren’t at our best and the circumstances aren’t ideal, we are a different team with different players, and we can always find a way.”

The injury to Neymar, who appeared to be in tears as he was helped onto a stretcher early in the second half after turning his right ankle, is of immediate concern to the Parisians.
