Najam Sethi, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee, provided a much-anticipated update on the future of the Lahore and Rawalpindi legs of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) eight on Sunday.

Sethi revealed on Twitter that the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has agreed to split the cost of lighting routes during PSL 8 matches here.

“Good news: CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi Saheb has been kind enough to agree to share cost of lighting routes during PSL matches in Lahore,”  Sethi wrote.

“HBL PSL8 matches in Lahore and Pindi shall continue as scheduled,” he added.

The PCB and the caretaker Punjab government have reached an impasse over the security expenditures for the Lahore and Rawalpindi legs of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight.

The Punjab government demanded that PCB pay PKR 500 million in order to secure the second leg of the ongoing extravaganza. At the same time, the cricket board refused to pay the stipulated sum.

After the impasse, the PCB and the six franchises held several meetings to discuss potential solutions, one of which was moving the entire second leg to Karachi.
