Karachi Kings will face Peshawar Zalmi in the second game of the Pakistan Super League 2023 on Tuesday (February 14) at the National Stadium in Karachi. Last season, the Kings won just one game and ended last in the point standings. However, much has changed in the squad since then.

The team’s captain, Babar Azam, has gone to Peshawar Zalmi. Shoaib Malik just had a strong performance in the Bangladesh Premier League and has switched sides. Matthew Wade has taken the place of Joe Clarke, the wicketkeeper-batter. This season, Imad Wasim will captain the team.

Last season, Zalmi won six of ten games and finished third. The previous year, Zalmi’s campaign was stopped with a defeat in the first round of the playoffs against Islamabad United.

They are the only team in the league that has made the playoffs every year. Babar has been chosen captain, succeeding Wahab Riaz. This season, the batting unit will be missing some crucial members, and much will depend on Babar’s performance.
