Shakib Al Hassan, an all-rounder from Bangladesh, won’t be available for Peshawar Zalmi’s remaining PSL 8 games.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that Shakib will have to leave the PSL 8 midway through owing to a family issue.

“Peshawar Zalmi’s Shakib Al Hasan has had to leave the squad to attend a family emergency in the United States and he has been replaced by Azmatullah Omarzai,” PCB shared.

“The Bangladesh all-rounder would return to the Pakistan Super League for the Playoffs in case Peshawar Zalmi’s qualification,” the statement added.

Shakib, meanwhile, experienced disappointment at quitting the Zalmi squad. I have to temporarily leave the PSL 8 to attend to a crucial personal situation,” he remarked. I am aware of my loyal local following and was eager to play every game in front of them all.

“But no need to be disappointed as I will be back at some stage during in the second half of the competition to play my part in Peshawar Zalmi’s campaign to reclaim the title.”

Zalmi has thus far in the tournament won one of the two games they have played. Shakib participated in one game against the Karachi Kings. He just managed to get one run on the board and was bowled out.
