The president of Peshawar Zalmi, former Test cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq, has faith in Babar Azam to do his duties as captain.

Speaking to the media outside of Zalmi’s training session on Friday, Inzamam claimed that Babar is the finest batter in the world and that having him as captain will help the 2017 PSL champions.

“Babar is best batter in the world right now. He is getting better day by day. I am confident that he will fulfill his role as a captain of Peshawar Zalmi,” he said.

According to Inzamam, learning never stops for any player. “No one is finished; learning never stops. Babar is a really talented athlete who is committed to learning, “He continued.

When asked about his experience working with children, Inzamam responded that he holds it very dear to his heart.

“I always enjoy working with youngsters. We have a lot of talent and they have potential to represent Pakistan at international level. I will try my best to share my experience with them,” he shared.

Inzamam said cricket has changed a lot by the time. “Cricket has changed a lot. In our time, cricket was slow, gradually, the game has been modernized,” he said.

“I wish there was league cricket in our time too,” Inzamam responded to a question.

Inzamam said he would think about accepting any position the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would offer him. For the time being, he answered, “I don’t know for now, but if any post is offered to me, I will decide then,”

Inzamam served as the chief selection for the Pakistani men’s team from 2016 to 2019. He picked the group that took home the inaugural Champions Trophy in 2017.
