Afridi told a local television station that Akmal is a fantastic pick for a selector at the youth level.

“Kamran is trustworthy and diligent. I believe he is a fantastic choice for selecting junior athletes. He is fearless and will not succumb to peer pressure when it comes to player selection “He stated.

An eight-member selection committee was announced by PCB on Monday, and it will conduct trials for the U13, U16, and U19 squads.

The panel’s other members are Sohail Tanvir, Amir Nazir, Taimoor Khan, Junaid Khan, Faisal Athar, Qaisar Abbas, and Sanaullah Baloch. The panel’s chair is former Test wicketkeeper batsman Kamran Akmal.

Trials will be held in accordance with the timetable, which will be made public in due course, and will be overseen by the head coach of each region/district and each selector.
