Tommy Fury defeated Jake Paul by controversial decision in what was arguably the most awaited boxing match between two amateurs in history.

The more active fighter was Fury, 23, who displayed his boxing fundamentals and landed more precise blows.

In the eighth round, YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul knocked down the former Love Island star and brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

One judge gave it to Paul 75-74, while the other two gave it to Fury 76-73.

“This is all that has consumed my life for the past two years,” an emotional Fury, who has now won all nine of his professional fights, said on media.

“Everyone thought I was afraid, but tonight I made my own legacy.”

“This is my first main event, I am going to get bigger and better, and if he wants a rematch, bring it on,” Fury said after dedicating the fight to his new-born baby daughter Bambi.

“All respect to Tommy, he won,” Paul said after losing for the first time in his seventh professional fight. Don’t judge me by my victories; rather, judge me by my defeats.

“I’m not sure if I agree with the judges, but it is what it is in the boxing world.”
