Atif Rana, the owner of Lahore Qalandars, gave hockey the Pakistan Super League (PSL) trophy for season 8.

After defeating Multan Sultans in the eighth edition’s final on March 18, Qalandars, who came forward to save the nation’s national sport, successfully defended their PSL title.

The trophy was transported to the high-performance centre in Lahore owned by Qalandars on Tuesday. Haider Hussain, general secretary of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), travelled with Qalandars owners Atif and Sameen Rana and head coach Aqib Javed on the trophy tour.

Atif said in a video that Qalandars shared that the trophy for PSL 8 is a symbol of hockey. You are aware of the reason I am pleased with the PSL 8 trophy. because hockey’s emblem is displayed here. He stated, “It will now transform Pakistani hockey.”

The secretary of the PHF made it clear that every hockey player in the country prayed for the victory of Qalandars. “Each hockey team prayed for the Lahore Qalandars because their victory gives them hope,” he said.

The management of Qalandars wants to bring hockey back to Pakistan. They decided to hold open trials in Karachi and Lahore on their own initiative.

Shaheen Afridi and the team traveled to the Karachi Hockey Association (KHA) field during PSL 8 to observe the trials. Hundreds of children participated in the KHA trials. Later, trials will be held in Lahore.

Qalandars will host a hockey series between Karachi and Lahore teams following the trials. Haris Rauf will be stationed in the Lahore camp, while Shaheen will serve as the Karachi ambassador.
