The top-of-the-table matchup of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight will take place today at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United.

After eight games, both sides have a total of 12 points, with Lahore leading the standings thanks to a higher net run rate.

With a thrilling conclusion, Islamabad, who have already qualified for the playoffs, upset Multan Sultans by two wickets in their most recent game. Lahore, who has also secured a spot in the last four, dropped their most recent game to Peshawar Zalmi by a score of 35 runs.

The world-class bowling of Lahore, led by players like Shaheen Afridi and Rashid Khan, and the explosive batting of Islamabad United, with players like Colin Munro and the risky Alex Hales, should make for an exciting game tonight.

Lahore thrashed Islamabad by 110 runs on February 27 at the Gaddafi Stadium in the first PSL 8 match between the two teams.

Lahore Qalandars will try to become the first team to win consecutive championships, while Islamabad United will try to make history by winning the trophy three times.
