Shahid Khan Afridi, a former Test cricketer, expressed sorrow over the passing of renowned cricket promoter Ameer Akram Khan in Karachi.

Afridi, who played the majority of his cricket in urban areas, expressed his sorrow on Twitter.

“Extremely saddened to hear about the loss of Ameer Akram Khan. He exemplifies a true hero who served the community of cricket in his own capacity; I have grown up being inspired by him. My prayers & wishes are with his son Ahmed Iqbal Khan for taking his father’s mission forward,” He wrote.
