Wasim Akram, a former fast bowler for Pakistan, believes that England is the favorite to win the World Cup in India this year.

The Sultan of Swing stated in his most recent interview that England has all bases covered in light of Indian conditions.

Akram stated, “I have to say that England is the favorites.” England has a number of good spin options. They have great players who play turn pleasantly. With the seam bowlers, they have good variations, and Jofra Archer’s return from injury is huge. Additionally, Mark Wood bowls at a speed of 90 mph. Therefore, I believe England has the experience,” the former cricketer turned commentator continued.

However, Akram is still of the opinion that India has the potential to be a significant force in its own right. India will be a danger. “India are going to be a formidable force in home conditions if they can commit to an aggressive style,” he mentioned.

Akram mentioned Pakistan’s strong bowling attack when discussing their World Cup strengths.

He stated, “We have one of the best fast-bowling lineups in the world, and our captain is a great player.” At the moment, Shaheen Afridi is in top form. For the second time, he has led his team to victory in the PSL. He’s getting pretty good at being an all-rounder. Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah are the next two. Mohammad Hasnain is present, and Ihsanullah, a young exciting fast bowler, is there. Due to the fact that the World Cup is taking place in India, “I think the team with the stronger bowling attack will succeed because the pitches typically favour batters,” he said in his conclusion.

This year’s World Cup will be held in October and November in India. The title will be upheld by England.
