In a dazzling display of star power, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad lit up with the presence of Bollywood’s finest as India and Australia clashed in the final showdown of the ICC World Cup 2023. The cricketing spectacle, spanning 45 days, reached its zenith as the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team sought to secure their third World Cup title.

Among the 132,000 fervent spectators, a constellation of Bollywood stars added glamour to the stands, draped in the iconic blue jerseys of the Indian cricket team. Shah Rukh Khan, often referred to as the ‘Bollywood King,’ was joined by his wife Gauri Khan in cheering passionately for the home team.

Anushka Sharma, the wife of Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, showcased unwavering support throughout the tournament. Her presence at multiple matches underlined her commitment to cheering for both her husband and the nation’s team.

Adding to the Bollywood brigade’s fervor were power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who sported blue jerseys while rooting for India. The duo was accompanied by Deepika’s father, Prakash Padukone, and sister Anisha Padukone, creating a star-studded spectacle in the stadium.

Bollywood actor and singer Ayushmann Khurrana made a spirited early morning dash to Ahmedabad, expressing his anticipation for the high-stakes clash. In a social media post, he shared, “Going to see the #IndVsAus #CricketWorldCup finals at the spectacular Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad with a lot of hope in my heart. I don’t think any Indian has forgotten 2003. So, this is a grudge match… Come on India, let’s bring it home again, boys.”

Earlier in the day, Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first, setting the stage for a thrilling encounter. The playing XIs featured some cricketing heavyweights, with Travis Head, David Warner, and Mitchell Marsh leading the charge for Australia, while Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah spearheaded the Indian lineup.

As the clash of titans unfolded on the field, the blend of cricket and Bollywood glamour in the stands created an unforgettable atmosphere, showcasing the deep connection between sports and entertainment in India.
