Sharing a brief video on social media on November 21, PM Modi expressed unwavering support for the team, stating, “India stands with them today and always.” The video showcased the Prime Minister interacting with the squad, offering words of encouragement and appreciation.

Addressing captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli, PM Modi said, “You reached here after winning 10 matches. These things happen. Smile, the country is watching you.” The gesture of holding their hands conveyed a message of solidarity and encouragement.

The Prime Minister also took a moment to appreciate the outstanding performance of Mohammed Shami, India’s most impressive bowler in the tournament. Modi hugged Shami and commended his stellar contributions to the team’s journey.

During the interaction, PM Modi extended an invitation to the team and coach Rahul Dravid, urging them to visit him whenever they are in Delhi. This gesture reinforced the sense of national pride and unity, emphasizing that the team’s efforts were commendable, irrespective of the final outcome.
