Real Madrid have reportedly made initial contact with Brighton and Hove Albion manager Roberto de Zerbi as they continue their search for a new head coach to replace Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the current season.

Ancelotti’s contract expires in the summer, and the Italian is widely expected to take over as manager of the Brazilian national team. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has decided not to renew Ancelotti’s contract, paving the way for a new managerial appointment at the Santiago Bernabeu.

With a young and talented squad at his disposal, Perez is seeking a manager who can nurture and develop these young players into the stars of the future. He believes that de Zerbi possesses the qualities to do just that, having impressed with his work at Brighton and Hove Albion in recent seasons.

De Zerbi has transformed Brighton into an attractive and attacking side, and his style of play aligns with Perez’s vision for Real Madrid. The Italian manager has also shown his ability to develop young players, having overseen the progress of several talented youngsters at Brighton.

Real Madrid’s interest in de Zerbi is also fueled by their plans to bring in several high-profile young signings in the summer. Brazilian prodigy Endrick Felipe is already set to join the club, and there is also interest in Kylian Mbappe and Alphonso Davies.

With a young core of players and a manager like de Zerbi, Real Madrid could be set for a bright future. However, they face competition from other top clubs for de Zerbi’s signature, including Bayer Leverkusen, where another potential candidate, Xabi Alonso, is currently in charge.

Alonso has transformed Leverkusen into a force to be reckoned with this season, winning 16 out of 17 games and scoring 59 goals in the process. His emergence as a top manager has attracted interest from many clubs, but Real Madrid are reportedly at the front of the queue to secure his services.

The decision of who will replace Ancelotti at Real Madrid is likely to be made in the coming weeks, with de Zerbi and Alonso emerging as the frontrunners. Both managers have the potential to lead Real Madrid to success in the years to come, and the club’s choice will be a crucial one in shaping their future.
