In preparation for the upcoming Test tour in Australia, Pakistan’s newly-appointed Test captain, Shan Masood, along with Team Director Mohammad Hafeez and Chief Selector Wahab Riaz, has identified key players for the training camp, scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi from November 22 to 29. The team is set to depart from Islamabad for Australia on November 30.

The selected players include the top performers from the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, with Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, and the leading wicket-taker Khurram Shehzad making the cut. This carefully curated squad aims to strengthen Pakistan’s lineup for the challenging Test series in Australia.

The coaching staff for the Pakistani team has also been finalized. Mohammad Hafeez will assume the dual role of head coach and batting coach, providing a wealth of experience to guide the players. Umar Gul will serve as the bowling coach, while Abdul Majid will resume his duties as the fielding coach.

Naveed Akram Cheema will manage the Pakistan team during the tour, with Shahid Aslam acting as the assistant coach and manager. Raza Rashid has been appointed as the media manager for the Australia tour, ensuring effective communication and coverage throughout the series.

The formal announcement of the squad and coaching staff is pending approval from Zaka Ashraf, the head of the PCB management committee, currently in India. The decision has been made to include seventeen to eighteen players in the final squad for the Australia tour.

The Australia tour is scheduled to commence with a four-day match between PM’s XI and Pakistan at Manuka Oval, Canberra, from December 6 to 9. The three Test matches will follow:
