A significant accomplishment was made by former Pakistani captain Babar Azam on the third day of the first Test in Perth.

The 29-year-old made history by becoming the fifth hitter in Pakistani cricket history to surpass 13,000 runs. With an average of 49.08, the right-handed batter leads the top five batters in this category. He has scored 31 hundreds and 81 fifties in 301 innings.

Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former captain of Pakistan, holds the record for most runs scored by Pakistan in international cricket with 20,541.

In the first innings of the first Test of the series in Perth on Saturday, the all-rounder Mitchell Marsh of Australia got rid of Pakistan’s best batsman and former captain, Babar Azam, on the third day of play.

In the first session of the day, Azam scored 21 runs; however, he lost one to wicketkeeper Alex Carey.

After scoring seven runs, Pat Cummins removed nightwatchman Khurram Shahzad from the game.

On Friday, the second day of the first Test in Perth, Pakistan dismissed Australia for 487 at stumps, and they began their first innings at 132-2.

Pakistan jumped out to a strong start when Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique put up 74 runs for the first wicket. However, Lyon’s dismissal of Shafique for 42 gave Australia a breakthrough.

Alex Carey completed the catch behind the stumps as captain Shan Masood was removed towards the end of play after chasing a wide delivery from Mitchell Starc. Shan Masood looked good during his 30 runs in 43 balls.

Australia had taken a 216-run advantage when the visitors were bowled for 271 in their opening inning on the third day.

Pat Cummins has stated that Australia will not enforce the follow-on and will instead bat again.

With four boundaries and 62 runs in 199 balls, Pakistan’s top scorer was opener Imam-ul-Haq.

In the meantime, captain Shan Masood added 30 runs, and Abdullah Shafique scored 42.

At one point, Pakistan was 122-1, but they lost the next nine wickets for 149.
