Manchester United are reportedly in talks to sign Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy during the upcoming January transfer window.

The 27-year-old has impressed in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 16 goals in 11 matches. His goal-scoring prowess has attracted interest from several clubs, including Newcastle United and Chelsea. However, Manchester United appear to be the frontrunners for his signature.

Guirassy’s impressive form has come at a time when Manchester United have struggled to score goals in the Premier League. The Red Devils have only netted 16 goals in 13 league matches this season, and club legend Andy Cole has called for the signing of a top striker to lead the line.

Cole believes that young striker Rasmus Hijlund lacks experience and needs someone to learn from. He pointed to the likes of Teddy Sheringham, Dwight Yorke, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Eric Cantona, and Mark Hughes as players who could provide guidance to young strikers.

With financial fair play restrictions limiting their spending, Manchester United may be able to activate Guirassy’s €17.5 million release clause. The addition of a proven goalscorer like Guirassy could be the key to Manchester United’s attacking woes and help them climb the Premier League table.
