On the first day of the practice match versus Victoria XI at the Junction Oval in Melbourne, Saud Shakeel and Muhammad Rizwan both scored fifty runs.

At tea on the first day, Pakistan was 220-3 in 56 overs, with Saud and Rizwan undefeated in 70 and 50 runs, respectively.

Australia defeated Pakistan handily in the opening match of the three-Test series. Pakistan lost the match by 360 runs after being assigned a target of 450 in the fourth inning, folding for a pitiful 89 in 30.2 overs.

In their first inning, the visitors were bowled for 271 in response to Australia’s 487.

Melbourne Cricket Ground will host the series’ second Test from December 26 to 30.
