Shah Khawar, the Election Commissioner for the Pakistan Cricket Board, was named the PCB’s acting chief on Wednesday.

After taking over, Khawar made his way to the PCB’s Lahore headquarters, where he was greeted by directors, other staff members, and Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer. They gave him flowers. Today, officials will brief Khawar on key subjects as well.

Khawar will also carry out the duties of the acting chairman till the PCB elections. Mohsin Naqvi, the current nominee for PCB chief, will currently hold a position on the governing board. The establishment of the Board of Governors will shortly be announced.

Reports claim that Khawar will now be in charge of the PCB elections. Naqvi is scheduled to run for chairman and, should he win, take over as chairman for a three-year period. Within a month, the elections are anticipated to take place.
