FC Barcelona is facing challenges both on and off the field, having been eliminated from two competitions—the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey. The team’s head coach, Xavi Hernandez, has confirmed his departure at the end of the season.

In La Liga, Barca trails league leaders Real Madrid by 10 points and is set to face Napoli in the Champions League knockout stage. With only two competitions left, the possibility of a season without trophies is looming.

The Athletic, a reputable English news source, reported that star defender Ronald Araujo was open to leaving during the January transfer window when Bayern Munich expressed interest.

Thomas Tuchel’s team is expected to pursue Araujo again in the summer transfer window, and the report suggested that the 24-year-old would not resist a move to the Bavarian club.

Xavi, who has announced his departure after the current season, previously warned the club that he would leave immediately if Araujo were sold.

With Xavi’s departure in June, Araujo might need to consider his future, which currently appears to be away from Barcelona.

Araujo, regarded as Barcelona’s top defender, has seen a significant drop in form since Bayern’s interest became known. The centre-back, who is also dealing with knee pain, could be experiencing a dip in form for this reason.

It’s important to note that Araujo previously dismissed all rumours of his commitment to Barcelona, but did not deny any contact with Bayern Munich when speaking to the press.
