On Thursday, UEFA disclosed the locations of the 21 team base camps for Euro 2024 in Germany, which is set to commence in just over four months with the opening match in Munich.

The last trio of teams to participate in the tournament will be determined following a qualification round in March.

Germany, the host nation, will establish their base in Herzogenaurach, a northern Bavarian town that is home to Adidas, their kit manufacturer. This is a change from their 2006 World Cup base in Berlin.

Italy, the reigning champions, will set up their base in Iserlohn, near Dortmund. Portugal, the 2016 victors, will be stationed next to an 800-year-old monastery in Harsewinkel.

England, who were the runners-up in Euro 2020, will be located at a golf resort in Blankenhain, a central German village near Leipzig. In 2023, England’s manager Gareth Southgate expressed his desire for a secluded venue where players could bring their families, aiming to avoid the off-field disruptions that marred their 2006 World Cup campaign in Germany.

France, another tournament favourite, will establish their base in the western city of Paderborn.

According to the tournament guidelines, each team must move into their base at least five days prior to their first match and host at least one public training session.

The tournament will be hosted in ten cities, with the final match set to take place in Berlin’s historic Olympic Stadium.

The semi-finals will be hosted in Dortmund and Munich, with additional matches taking place in Cologne, Duesseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, and Stuttgart.
