The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee, previously under the leadership of Zaka Ashraf, was limited to handling daily operations, which led to a halt in critical issues beyond the HBL PSL rights sale. However, with Mohsin Naqvi as the new chairman, it is expected that there will be significant progress in the near future.

Under Mohsin Naqvi’s guidance, a series of tenders worth millions of rupees are expected to be introduced. These tenders will include the sale of broadcast and production rights for bilateral series and sponsorship deals for player shirt logos.

The live streaming rights for a two-year period are also set to be sold, with a considerable sum expected to be secured, given the value of the previous agreement and the current rate of inflation.

The aim is to raise up to 6 billion rupees from a two-year broadcast deal, and live streaming for each match could bring in up to 8 million rupees.

The series sponsorship is expected to be sold for more than 1.1 billion rupees over two years, and the kit sponsorship alone could generate an annual sum of 600 million rupees, a significant part of which will be allocated to the players.

The sale of two-year production rights, estimated to be worth around six to seven million dollars, is considered vital as the successful company may also secure a contract from the ICC for the 2025 Champions Trophy. Local companies are expected to be preferred due to lower TV production costs, and tenders may be issued soon, aligning with the upcoming series against New Zealand.

However, during the PSL rights sale, concerns were raised, suggesting that some officials might be excluded from the tender process. As a result, the PCB board intends to proceed with caution, particularly considering the previous production controversy. Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is anticipated to have a crucial role in the final decision-making process on this issue.
