The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to host the ICC Champions Trophy in February 2025. In preparation for this, an ICC delegation evaluated the facilities at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on Monday.
Chris Tetley, the Head of Operations for ICC Events, will join the delegation in Islamabad. The delegation arriving in Karachi includes Sarah Edgar, Senior Manager-Event Operations, and Aun Muhammad Zaidi, Manager-Event Operations.
The delegation members held a meeting in the PCB committee room. Here, Salman Naseer, the COO of the PCB, briefed them and provided information about the relevant procedures. The delegation members asked various questions, expressed their satisfaction, and offered several suggestions. They also toured different areas within the stadium to evaluate the arrangements and facilities.
Besides inspecting the National Bank Stadium, the delegation has planned meetings with security officials from the relevant agencies.
As per the schedule, the delegation will depart for Lahore tonight and visit the Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday. On Wednesday, they will inspect the Pindi Cricket Stadium and also have scheduled meetings with Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB Chairman and Interior Minister.
Following the evaluations and meetings with PCB officials in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, the delegation will compile its report to share with the member countries.
