Following Pakistan’s underwhelming performance in the last and decisive fourth T20I against England at The Oval, Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam called for a stronger contribution from the middle-order batsmen.

England secured a seven-wicket victory over Pakistan, thereby clinching the series with a 2-0 lead. The English team successfully reached the 158-run mark in just 15.3 overs, while conceding seven wickets.

In the aftermath of the match, during the awarding ceremony, Babar expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s initial batting efforts during the powerplay, but acknowledged a decline in the subsequent middle overs.

“After six overs we were doing very well, but then I got out, the middle-order needs to step up,” he remarked.

“England’s bowling is very good, so we had to take our chances. Need to sort out those things for the World Cup. A few injuries but a lot of positives, we played well in patches, but to win you need 100%,” he further stated.
