Despite speculation among several players that Erik ten Hag’s tenure as Manchester United’s manager is nearing its end, the club has no plans to dismiss him before the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

The pressure on the manager has escalated following United’s crushing 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace on Monday night, as the club continues to set unwanted records.

The team’s 13th defeat of the season marks a new low, and they are struggling to avoid recording their worst points total in the Premier League era – they are currently just four points above the 58 points they achieved in the 2021-22 season.

Despite their poor form, United still have a chance to redeem their season when they face City on May 25 at Wembley, a rematch of last year’s final where Pep Guardiola’s team emerged victorious with a 2-1 win.

However, given United’s rapidly declining performance, there have been calls for a change in management before the upcoming final.

Since the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team, led by Sir Dave Brailsford, ten Hag has not received any solid guarantees about his long-term future at Old Trafford.

But for the time being, his job is safe, with United not planning to replace him before the cup final this month, as reported by The Telegraph.

United have three league matches remaining, with home games against Arsenal and Newcastle United, followed by a final day trip to Brighton.

The club’s hopes of finishing in the top four have been extinguished, and they are now in danger of missing out on European qualification entirely. They have slipped to eighth place as Newcastle and Chelsea have hit a good run of form and overtaken them in recent weeks.

Their best shot at securing a spot in European competition is by defeating City in the final this month.
