Mohsin Naqvi announces huge prize money for players for winning T20 World Cup 2024

Ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced a huge prize money for the players for winning the marquee event.

According to reports, Mr. Naqvi announced 100,000 USD for every player upon winning the tournament. He also said that this reward is very little compared to the T20 World Cup champions’ title.

Mr. Naqvi boosted moral and confidence of the players during the meeting at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, where in-depth discussion on the strategies for the upcoming tournament were also held.

PCB chairman said, “Hopefully you will raise the Pakistani green crescent flag this time, play without any pressure and compete hard, the competition should be seen on the field.”

He further added, “Victory will be for you and defeat for me, don’t care about anyone but only play for Pakistan, show teamwork on the field. Inshallah Fateh will kiss your steps.”

He laid emphasis on the importance of Shaheen Shah Afridi in the T20 World Cup, saying that he would give a great performance and that the nation has high expectations from him.

Mohammad Rizwan was gifted a special green shirt with 3000 number as a completing 3000 runs in T20 matches. Naseem Shah was also given the shirt for completing his 100 wickets in the shortest format.

Mr. Naqvi, on the occasion, stressed on resolving the players’ issues on top priority. He also hosted lunch for the national team and officials; including selectors Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Yousuf, assistant coach Azhar Mehmood and Director of International Cricket Usman Wahla; at a local hotel.
