In a T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up game on Monday in Dallas, Canada emerged victorious over Nepal by a margin of 63 runs.

Choosing to field first after winning the toss at Grande Prairie Cricket Stadium, Nepal watched Canada put up a score of 183/7 in their 20 overs. In response, Nepal was bowled out for 120 in 19.3 overs.

Nicholas Kirton was a standout performer for Canada, hitting a brisk 51 off 39 balls, including four boundaries and two maximums. Ravinderpal Singh’s valuable 41 runs also played a significant role in their team’s win.

Canada’s bowling attack was equally effective, with Dillon Heylinger claiming four scalps, and both Jeremy Gordon and skipper Saad bin Zafar taking two wickets apiece.

Following their triumph over Nepal, Canada is gearing up for their final warm-up match against the Netherlands on Friday, May 31.

In another warm-up encounter, Oman overcame Papua New Guinea, reaching the target of 138 with five deliveries to spare, in a match that took place at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba earlier today.

After being put in to bat, Papua New Guinea struggled to score but managed to reach 137 in their allotted overs, thanks to contributions from Lega Siaka (28 off 24) and Alei Nao (17 off 10).

Oman showcased a strong performance with both bat and ball. Zeeshan Maqsood led the batting with a composed 45 off 42 balls, while Aqib Ilyas impressed with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 22 runs.

Additionally, Namibia clinched a victory against Uganda by five wickets in another warm-up match held earlier today. After opting to field, Namibia chased down Uganda’s total of 134/8 with five wickets in hand.

Uganda’s batting was highlighted by Robinson Obuya’s 38 off 27 balls and Roger Mukasa’s 51 off 41, which included six fours and a six.

For Namibia, Nikolaas Davin shone with the bat, scoring a half-century peppered with five sixes, and shared an 85-run partnership with JP Kotze for the second wicket.

The match concluded with JJ Smit’s unbeaten 21, securing the win for Namibia.

Looking ahead, Namibia is set to take on Australia in their next warm-up match on May 29 at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
