On a recent Tuesday, Babar Azam illuminated the tactical approach of Pakistan’s cricket team and their groundwork for the imminent T20 World Cup in 2024.

Addressing journalists in Dallas, Babar exuded assurance regarding the team’s batting and bowling prowess.

“We have come to America with good preparations. Batters have been training indoors while bowlers are training in the field,” he remarked.

“Our team’s forte definitely lies in our bowling. The conditions seem to favor our fast bowlers,” he elaborated. “Our goal is to avoid past errors. It’s crucial for the experienced players to rise to the occasion and shoulder the responsibility,” he further stated.

Babar also touched upon the batting lineup’s adaptability, noting its potential variability in response to game dynamics.

“No one’s batting number is fixed; it can change according to the situation,” he clarified.

In light of Saim Ayub’s recent hurdles, Babar reiterated his belief in the young cricketer’s pivotal role, dubbing him a “game changer.” He emphasized the significance of rallying behind each team member, particularly in challenging periods, to maintain high spirits and performance levels.

He highlighted that the expertise of players like Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, and Haris Rauf in American conditions could prove beneficial. Babar singled out Shadab Khan for special commendation, citing his all-around proficiency in the sport.

“I have the most faith in Shadab. He is effective in all three fields of the game,” he expressed, optimistic about the compatibility of the conditions with Shadab’s skills,” he added.

In anticipation of the opening game against the USA, Babar recognized the home team’s advantage but upheld his conviction in Pakistan’s competencies.

The Pakistani squad is slated to commence their World Cup journey with a match against the USA on June 6 in Dallas, Texas.
