Shaheen Afridi, the Pakistani left-arm fast bowler, has decided not to participate in the upcoming season of the Hundred, as per a report by The Telegraph.

After a commendable stint in 2023, where he played in six games, Welsh Fire retained him for £100,000. Presently, it’s rumored that he is negotiating with the Global T20 Canada league regarding a possible contract.

The timing of this league coincides with the Hundred but is shorter, which could give Shaheen additional family time should he opt for it.

While he has pulled out from the Hundred, his official signing with the Global T20 Canada league has yet to be confirmed.

Welsh Fire is anticipated to reveal their new pace bowler replacement shortly. The Hundred is set to occur from July 23 to August 18 this year.
