In the World Championship of Legends 2024’s tenth match, Pakistan triumphed over England with a decisive 79-run victory at Birmingham’s Edgbaston Stadium.

Remaining undefeated, the Men in Green secured their fourth consecutive win, having previously defeated Australia, West Indies, and India.

Pakistan set a score of 196/4 after England elected to field. Despite losing openers Kamran Akmal (11) and Sharjeel Khan (13) early on, a solid 121-run stand between Sohaib Maqsood and Shoaib Malik bolstered Pakistan’s total.

Maqsood scored a swift 64 off 44 balls, while Malik contributed a rapid 51 from 33 balls.

Captain Misbah-ul-Haq, filling in for Younis Khan, added a quickfire 23* from 14 balls, and Abdul Razzaq chipped in with an explosive 20* off 9 balls.

Stuart Meaker emerged as England’s most effective bowler, claiming 2/25.

While defending a target of 197, Pakistan quickly dismissed England’s captain Kevin Pietersen (4). Phil Mustard tried to anchor the innings, but after his departure for 34 and Ian Bell’s run-out by Yasir Arafat at 11, England’s hopes dimmed.

Kevin O’Brien was bowled by Shoaib Malik for 24, and the rest of the English lineup failed to make an impact, all out for 117.

Saeed Ajmal led the Pakistani bowlers with three wickets, Abdul Razzaq took two, and Shoaib Malik, Sohail Khan, and Aamer Yamin each claimed one.

With the semi-finals approaching, the top four teams advance. Pakistan leads the points table with eight points, followed by Australia and India with four points each, and England in fourth place with two points.
