Pakistan cricket team captain Shan Masood has expressed his determination to lead his side to a memorable victory in the upcoming Test series against England.

Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Shan emphasized the team’s focus on starting the first test strong, aiming to build momentum from the very beginning.

He pointed out that the first match of the series will be held in Multan, where the tough weather conditions will pose an additional challenge for both teams. However, Shan is confident that his team is prepared to handle the situation and deliver a solid performance.

Reflecting on the team’s recent defeat to Bangladesh, Shan acknowledged the disappointment that followed but stressed the importance of learning from the experience. “We accept the results and are ready to move forward,” he said, adding that the team is committed to improving and bouncing back stronger.

The captain also underlined the necessity of supporting players to foster a strong and cohesive unit. He mentioned that consistency is key for long-term success and that players need backing from the management to thrive.

When asked about the team’s selection, Shan explained that Nauman Ali was left out of the match against Bangladesh because the Rawalpindi pitch favored fast bowlers.

He further mentioned that the decision regarding the inclusion of spinners or fast bowlers in Multan will depend on the pitch conditions there.

Shan also touched on the recent Champions Cup, noting that while the level of competition was high, it didn’t provide the team with the specific preparation needed for red-ball cricket.

Despite this, he remains optimistic about his team’s prospects in the Test series and is eager to lead Pakistan to a strong showing against England.
